Alma is a chemist turned Science-Policy Interface Practitioner leading science advising efforts in Mexico. She has experience as scientific advisor in the legislative branch and is coordinating the first program of Science-Policy Interface fellows in the region. She holds a PhD in Scientific and Technological Development for Society and a MSc in Neuropharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. Currently she is Director of Science, Centers and Transfer of Knowledge at the Ministry for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in México City Government and external professor in the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav). She is a member of Global Young Academy and INGSA latinamerican Steering committee.
